Futures Trading Rules & Prohibited Practices

All Futures traders must follow TradersYard's trading and risk-management rules.

Overnight Holding

Overnight holding is not allowed.

All open positions must be closed before the daily reset at EST/EDT 17:00.

News Trading

News Trading is not allowed.

Trading is restricted from 10 minutes before until 5 minutes after a high-impact news release. During this period, traders cannot open or close positions, and pending orders including Stop Loss and Take Profit orders cannot be executed by the system.

Scalping Profit Cap

No more than 30% of your Total Closed Profit may come from trades held for less than 10 seconds.

Scalping Ratio = (Profit from trades <10 seconds ÷ Total Closed Profit) × 100

Profit above the 30% threshold is deducted.

Example: If Total Closed Profit is $10,000 and $4,000 came from trades under 10 seconds, the permitted amount is $3,000. The additional $1,000 is deducted.

Other prohibited practices

These include:

  • Arbitrage and latency exploitation

  • Hedging between accounts

  • Unauthorized copy trading

  • Third-party account management

  • Account churning reflective of gambling behavior

  • Market/system exploitation

  • VPN/VPS usage

Minor violations may result in warnings and/or profit deductions. Serious violations such as arbitrage, cross-account hedging, copy trading or third-party account management may result in account suspension or permanent offboarding.
