Trading Rules & Risk Management

What Rules do I need to follow?

You can see rules section here: https://tradersyard.com/rules

Prohibited practices include:

  • Copy trading

  • Hedging across accounts

  • Arbitrage or latency exploitation

  • Martingale / grid strategies

  • Gambling behavior

  • News trading abuse

  • Use of VPN/VPS

What consistency rule do I need to follow?

40% Consistency Rule: Your Best Day Profit cannot exceed 40% of your Total Closed Profit. Only closed trades are included in this calculation.

Consistency = (Best Day Profit ÷ Total Closed Profit) × 100

If your Best Day Profit exceeds the 40% limit, your account will not fail. But you must increase your Total Closed Profit to bring this ratio below 40% in order to pass or request Reward.

  • Example 1: $100,000 account. Total Closed Profit = $10,000. Best Day Profit = $3,000. Consistency = ($3,000 ÷ $10,000) × 100 = 30%. Since 30% is below 40%, you are consistent and can pass or request Reward.

  • Example 2: $50,000 account. Total Closed Profit = $5,000. Best Day Profit = $3,000. Consistency = 60%. Not consistent yet. If Total Closed Profit grows to $8,000 while Best Day stays at $3,000, new Consistency = 37.5%. Now below 40%, consistent, can pass or request Reward.

What are the different types of drawdown?

  1. Daily Drawdown

A daily loss limit based on your account equity. The limit resets every day at UTC 00:00. If your equity falls below the allowed daily limit at any point during the day, the account is breached.

2. Static Max Drawdown

A fixed maximum loss limit based on your starting balance. The drawdown level never moves, regardless of how much profit you make. If your equity falls below this level, the account is breached.

3. End-of-Day (EoD) Max Drawdown

A maximum loss limit that can move upward as your account grows. The drawdown level is updated at UTC 00:00 whenever a new account high is reached. It never moves downward and eventually locks once its maximum level is reached.

Is your drawdown equity-based or balance-based?

Equity includes unrealized P/L from open positions, your account can breach a drawdown limit even if a trade has not yet been closed.

Why can’t I trade Forex during the daily market break?

Forex instruments are temporarily unavailable during the daily session change. A five-minute buffer is applied before the session closes and after it reopens. The Forex trading break is:

  • Summer schedule: 20:55–22:05 UTC

  • Winter schedule: 21:55–23:05 UTC

During this period, users cannot open, close, or modify Forex trades. Trading becomes available automatically when the break ends. The schedule changes between summer and winter because of daylight-saving time.
